When Can I Move In?

  • Ingram Center Fall Bridge Program Participants

    Monday, Aug. 17

    All incoming first-year and transfer student athletes are required to participate in the Ingram Center Fall Bridge Program which begins on Monday, August 17.

  • First-Year International Students

    Wednesday, Aug. 19

    International Move-In Day for fall 2026 takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT, at The Commons Center. This coordinated move-in experience is designed to provide a smooth arrival process, including organized check-in, staff support, access to campus resources, and opportunities to connect with other new international students. Students should plan to arrive on this date to participate in the coordinated move-in experience.

    U.S. citizens living abroad who opt to participate in International Student Orientation are permitted to move in on Wednesday, August 19.

    All incoming first-year international students are required to participate in International Student Orientation which begins on Thursday, August 20.

  • Transfer International Students

    Wednesday, Aug. 19

    International Student Orientation is optional for incoming international transfer students. Students participating can move in between Monday, Aug. 17 and Wednesday, Aug. 19.

    Those who do not sign up to participate and are residing in on-campus housing will move in during scheduled transfer student move in on Friday, August 21.

  • Move Crew

    Thursday., Aug. 20

    Upper-division students volunteering as members of the Move Crew are welcome to get settled into their housing in preparation for first-year student move-in.

  • Transfer Students

    Friday, Aug. 21

    Transfer students will be provided with a specific afternoon move-in time with their room assignment information. Move-in times will range from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. and students should report to the check-in location at that time. Room assignment information will be emailed to all incoming transfer students on or around August 10. We cannot accommodate early move-in requests.

  • First-Year Students

    Saturday, Aug. 22

    Incoming first-year students will receive their room assignment and scheduled move-in time by email on or around August 1. Move-in times are scheduled and range between 7 a.m. and noon.

    Domestic students will also receive a mailer in early August that includes a hang tag, key release card, and star sticker for rideshare or shuttle transport.Ìý

    Please arrive during your assigned move-in time. Early move-in is not available unless you have received prior approval. Details about early arrival for incoming first-year students will be emailed.

  • Continuing Upper-Division Students

    Sunday, Aug. 23

    Before You Arrive

    We're preparing the halls before move-in, so we can't accommodate early arrivals unless you're pre-approved. Plan your travel accordingly.

    Continuing students staying in Nashville or other communities over summer

    Make sure your lease/sublet covers through Sunday, August 23—we cannot accommodate early move-in for shorter leases.

Move Crew

Move crew

Join the Move Crew and be part of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's biggest welcome event! We're looking for upper-division students to volunteer as Move Crew members.

What you'll do:

  • Welcome first-year students and their families to campus
  • Help move them into their houses on the Ingram Commons
  • Be the first friendly face they see at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø

First-year student move-in is Saturday, August 22 from 7 a.m. to noon.

Move Crew signup is available to continuing upper-division students in the Housing Portal and due by July 15 at 5 p.m.

All students who sign up will be assigned as a member of the Move Crew. We make every effort to assign students to their first-year house.

    • Students residing in on-campus summer housing in Oliver C. Carmichael College or the Academic Intern Housing Program should follow provided email instructions regarding moving to fall housing assignments, as key pickup locations may vary.
    • Incoming first-year and transfer students must activate their Mobile Commodore Card prior to arriving on campus, as you will need your card in order to access your residence hall.

    Please ensure that you have activated your Mobile Commodore Card prior to your arrival or are in possession of your Commodore Card if you do not have mobile credentials.

Move-Out

  • Closing Dates

    Residence Hall Closing Dates:

    • Non-Graduating Students: Saturday, May 2 at 9 a.m.Ìý
    • May 2026 Graduating Seniors: Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m.Ìý

    Unless approved for a move-out extension, failure to vacate by your designated closing date and time will result in late check-out charges at the rate of $200/day.

    All departing flights/travel arrangements must be made with consideration of the hall closing deadline. Extension requests due to flights booked after Saturday, May 2 will not be considered.

    Requests due to summer leases/sublets beginning after Saturday, May 2 will not be considered. Please arrange your lease dates based on hall closing dates.

  • Housing Extension Requests for Non-Graduating Students

    Commencement week housing extensions are available to the following non-graduating students:

    • Students with a sibling graduating from 91³Ô¹ÏÍø in May 2026

  • Check-Out Procedures

    All students are required to properly check out of their residence hall by completing the Check-Out Form in the Housing Portal and returning their functional, university-issued room key to their designated key drop box. Students who fail to complete their Check-Out Form forfeit the ability to appeal any potential damage charges.

    After your departure, staff will inspect your room and you will be contacted via email if any damage charges are assessed.

    Housing and Residential Experience will enter spaces of students who have departed between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily to complete room inspections.

    • Carts: Limited carts are available for use in each building. After use, please return carts to their designated locations. Carts should not be stored in student rooms or left in hallways/outside.
    • Bicycles and Scooters: Please be sure to remove your bicycle and/or scooter from the outdoor storage racks. These items cannot be left on campus after you depart.
    • Mail Forwarding: Prior to departing campus, please be sure to complete a mail forwarding form located on the Mail Services website.
  • Move-Out Loading Areas & Traffic Information

    All loading areas have a 30-minute limit, and your hazard lights must remain on while actively loading. Vehicles exceeding the 30-minute limit, blocking the flow traffic, or in designated reserved/accessible parking without proper permits are subject to ticketing/removal.

  • Storage & Shipping

    On-campus storage is NOT available.

    Students are welcome to use any storage and shipping vendors of their choice. All vendors must be escorted when they are in the residence halls, and all items must be removed from your space prior to your departure.

    Students are responsible for coordinating and removing any rental items (Blackstar beds, Hydrodore, etc.) from their spaces PRIOR to departing. Charges will be assessed for any items not removed.

  • Donations & Trash/Recycling

    Donations

    Donation bins will be placed in the residence halls on Monday, April 20. All donations must be received no later than Wednesday, May 6 at 9 a.m.. No donations will be accepted after this time.

    The following items cannot be accepted:

    • No Liquids or Powder
    • No Mattress Pads or Toppers
    • No Broken, Stained/Dirty, or Incomplete Items
    • No Undergarments (All clothing items such as shirts, tank tops, and pants should be cleaned before donating)
    • No Food/Perishable Items

    Trash & Recycling

    Students are responsible to taking all trash and recyclables to designated disposal areas outside of their building. Trash associated with moving out should not be placed in building common area receptacles. Additional dumpsters will be placed around the residence halls during move out.
