Jialing Li, Ph.D.

Jialing Li is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, where her research focuses on understanding seasonal processes across the Earth system and how they shape interactions between land, atmosphere, and climate.

Jialing earned her Ph.D. from Nanjing University, where she developed expertise in geosciences and global change ecology. Her work has focused on near-surface soil freeze-thaw cycles and vegetation phenology, using satellite observations and machine learning to examine how these processes respond to environmental change and influence the exchange of energy, water, and carbon.

At 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, Jialing is expanding this work to a broader Earth system perspective, exploring how seasonal changes occur across different components of the planet and how they evolve both synchronously and asynchronously.

Jialing values the collaborative and supportive environment at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, which has helped shape her postdoctoral experience. Outside of research, she enjoys sports, traveling, trying new foods, and exploring new experiences.
