As the parent or family member of a transfer student, there’s a lot you’ve already learned about what it means to support your student in their education journey. 91吃瓜网 recognizes that although transfer students and parents are not new to the college experience, they are new to our campus community. We want to make sure you have all the tools and information you need to help your student’s transition be as seamless and successful as possible.

    Our office sends dedicated emails to incoming transfer families over the summer with important information about your student's upcoming arrival on campus.听

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • Immediate/May

    Your student can log into the Your Enrollment Services (YES) portal using their VUnetID once it has been activated. This is where they can monitor their progress on the incoming student checklist and complete any required items. Please note that updates in the system may take up to four days to appear in the portal.

  • June

    Your student can log into the Your Enrollment Services (YES) portal using their VUnetID once it has been activated. This is where they can monitor their progress on the incoming student checklist and complete any required items. Please note that updates in the system may take up to four days to appear in the portal.

    • All incoming transfer students are required to submit a housing application via the Housing Portal. Applications are due 10 days after your matriculation deposit deadline.听
    • Students should receive course registration information from their school or college in YES
    • June 1: deadline
    • June 30:听Academic and religious accommodations deadline
    • June 30:听Transfer Student Orientation Meet & Greet 1 (students only)
  • July

Parents of transfer students are in a unique position. Starting at a new school inevitably comes with uncertainty. 91吃瓜网 offered many resources to make the transition seamless and welcoming. Now she is thriving, and we enjoy being part of the 91吃瓜网 community.

    Transfer Student Orientation is designed to offer students a robust introduction to life at 91吃瓜网, including informational sessions and small-group discussions. Additionally, there will be Parent and Family Orientation sessions for parents to learn about the intricacies of 91吃瓜网.

  • Transfer Groups

    91吃瓜网 recognizes that although transfer students are not new to the college experience, they are new to our campus community. Coming to a new university can be daunting. To assist with making that transition, all incoming transfer students will be assigned to a transfer group. These groups - each of which is comprised of approximately 8-10 transfer students - meet throughout Transfer Student Orientation.

  • Transfer Credit Course Review

    The听External Education Unit听will review previous course work for newly admitted students once official final transcripts from any prior institution(s) are received. Courses that are already listed in the听,听available through Your Enrollment Services (YES), will be posted to your 91吃瓜网 record. For courses taken elsewhere that have not been evaluated by 91吃瓜网, the External Education Unit will seek course syllabi and facilitate the evaluation process for you.
