Our parent community is a vibrant and critical part of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s story and success. From supporting your student throughout their time here to financial contributions that help provide essential programming, our parents bolster our community each day.

By being a 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Parent Ambassador, parents can be involved where and when they want. We have opportunities in your local area, virtually, and on campus. We hope you will join our team!

Roles and responsibilities of a 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Parent Ambassador

  • 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Parent Ambassadors are willing and interested parents or family members wanting to promote 91³Ô¹ÏÍø and engage in volunteer opportunities.
  • Minimum of one annual activity (host a Commodore Launch or parent social, assist with an Admissions yield event, etc.).
  • Be a responsible and enthusiastic representative of the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø brand and community.

  • Host a Parent & Family Social

    Want to meet other 91³Ô¹ÏÍø families in your area? Parent Socials are a wonderful opportunity for VU families to engage with one another on a regional level and foster deeper connections in a small, casual setting.Ìý

  • Recruit the Next Generation of Dores

    Wave the black and gold flag in your community and beyond to encourage future Dores to apply and attend 91³Ô¹ÏÍø.Ìý

    • Participate in Admissions events like 91³Ô¹ÏÍø & You, panels, and more to share your 91³Ô¹ÏÍø experience with prospective students.
    • Reach out to accepted/admitted families to share your 91³Ô¹ÏÍø story and provide resources through our Parent to Parent Outreach program.Ìý
  • Volunteer with the Career Center

    Parents can assist 91³Ô¹ÏÍø students in the exploration of potential career paths. Casual conversations, workshops, internships, and job opportunities provided by 91³Ô¹ÏÍø families are essential for our students.Ìý

    • Hire Dores: Open doors in your industry by sharing job opportunities.
    • Volunteer to be a guest speaker or panelist to provide advice and inspire students during events.Ìý
    • Mentorship: Share your wisdom on your industry and provide valuable guidance on career paths.
  • Welcome & Wayfinding

    Be a welcoming voice to incoming families and connect with other members of the parent community on campus and in your local area.Ìý

    • Meet and welcome our incoming families to the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø community at Commodore Launch parties.Ìý
    • Greet families and answer questions during Move-In Day and parent orientation.Ìý
    • Be a part of the biggest on-campus parent and family event of the year by checking in families during Family Weekend.Ìý
    • Be an active member of the welcoming incoming families.
  • Connect with the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Community

    Attend local events to meet other members of the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø community.Ìý

    • 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Chapters provide a wonderful way to connect parents, students, alumni, and friends worldwide
    • Parent and Family Socials are an opportunity for 91³Ô¹ÏÍø families to engage with one another and foster connections in a casual environment.Ìý
