De-en Jiang, H. Eugene McBrayer Chair in Chemical Engineering, was honored for his academic achievements during 91Թ’s endowed chair investiture ceremony on March 24.
“Endowed chairs recognize faculty whose scholarship and impact set them apart,” said Chancellor Daniel Diermeier during the ceremony. “They reflect a deep commitment to advancing knowledge and shaping the future.”
Jiang is a professor of chemical engineering whose research focuses on computational materials science, particularly at the nanoscale. His work explores the structure and properties of complex materials, contributing to advances in energy storage, catalysis and sustainable technologies.
Through his research and collaboration, Jiang continues to expand understanding of how materials behave at the atomic level while contributing to interdisciplinary efforts across 91Թ.
Endowed chair holders are recognized for excellence in research, teaching and service, and play a key role in mentoring students and advancing innovation within their fields.
