2027 AmericasBarometer - Call for Proposals

The LAPOP Lab at 91Թ's Center for Global Democracy and the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame invite proposals for including questions in the 2027 round of the AmericasBarometer.

The 2027 round is expected to include national surveys of approximately 1,000 respondents in 22 countries across the Americas: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, the United States, and Venezuela. Most surveys will be conducted face-to-face, though some may be fielded by phone (Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela) or using non-probability online samples (Canada, Cuba, United States).

Proposals may include questions for all countries, a subset of countries, or a single country. Because the AmericasBarometer uses electronic questionnaires, survey experiments can be accommodated.

Given resource constraints, priority will be given to proposals that include funding to support fielding costs. Costs vary depending on the number of questions, countries, and survey mode. Proposers interested in funding their questions are encouraged to contact us for an estimate.

    • Justification for the proposed question wording relative to alternative approaches
  5. Integration with Existing Data
    • List of additional variables expected to be included in the questionnaire (including sociodemographic and attitudinal control variables)
    • Variables should be identified by name as used in previous AmericasBarometer studies (if applicable)
  6. Additional Requirements (as applicable)
